This workshop will cover the basic principles choosing a location, design, posing, and lighting the subject both for indoor and outdoor scenarios. The focus for this workshop will be for the lighting of basic portraiture methods, and a live model will be used to help in demonstrating these principles.  We will cover the use of one studio/hand held strobe and accessories that will allow us to explore and control the quality of light, reflected lighting, and diffused lighting. This workshop will also cover mixed use of lighting with both natural light and strobe lighting. 

We will cover:
  • Theme, Design and Setting
  • Gathering Props and Clothes (Places to go)
  • Mixing your lighting sources
  • Studio and Location Shooting
  • Posing

*(A pre-requisite for this workshop would be The Fundamentals of Photography Workshop or a good understanding of aperture and shutter speed also Basic Lighting 101 or a good understanding of strobe and mixed lighting.)


Getting to Know Your Camera Class FREE in January

If you receive a new camera for the holidays and are not sure where to begin, but you know it’s not the large manual that came with it then we have got you covered. On Saturday, January 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Island Images Professional Photography Studio, Inc located at 2036 14th Avenue, STE 101, Vero Beach, FL 32960 will be offering our “Getting To Know Your Camera” workshop for FREE.
With all the brands and models of cameras in the market today, there are common threads to the use of these cameras.  In this workshop we will help you to understand what they mean to your particular camera and when and how to use those functions. We will explore the basics of your camera from Point and Shoot cameras with the most common shooting modes then explore the preset scene modes found in some of the more sophisticated models.

Color Temperature and White Balance
Metering Modes
Basic Shooting Modes
Preset Scene Modes
