in conjunction with Island Images/Gallery of Hope, presents:
Image Post-processing for the Bird, Butterfly, and Flower Photographer
Whether you shoot birds, butterflies, flowers, or some other specific subject matter, being proficient at post-processing your images can make the difference in producing good final images or great ones.
This 2 hour workshop focuses on using Photoshop to process subject specific type images such as birds, butterflies, and flowers; taking them from the original RAW file to the final breathtaking image. Topics to be covered include initial image adjustments to RAW file in Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom, cropping, setting correct white and black points, adjusting contrast, using luminosity masks, using actions, creating safe “burn” and “dodge” layers, cloning and healing, creating an accurate selection of your subject for sharpening, proper sharpening methods, use of third party noise reduction software, and saving your images for printing and web display; plus much more.
Many people find Photoshop to be an overwhelmingly complex piece of software and thus shy away from using it to post-process their images. During this workshop I will provide you with a workflow that simplifies the use of Photoshop, but at the same time will take advantage of all its power to make your images the best they can be.
A written workflow outline detailing all aspects of post-processing covered during this workshop is available via download upon workshop registration.
When you are done with this workshop you will have the confidence to use Photoshop to take your images to their highest levels!
This workshop is designed to be hands-on, so it is recommended that you bring your notebook computer with Photoshop and Adobe Camera RAW installed. I will be providing you with two images to process during the workshop, thus having a computer is somewhat important. However, if you do not have Photoshop you can still get a lot out of this workshop, just by following along and taking notes.
Although this workshop will focus on the use of Photoshop as the image processing platform, most of the processing you will perform can be done in many other software platforms such as Adobe Elements and Lightroom. So, if you do not have Photoshop this workshop will still provide you with the understanding of the processes that go into properly processing a RAW or Jpeg image. You can then take this new knowledge and apply it to your workflow using the software of your choice.
I am limiting the number of participants to 10, so everybody gets the attention they need, so don’t wait too long to reserve your spot, or it might be gone.
Prerequisites: Being able to open Photoshop on your computer and to understand the concept of working with layers.
Maximum Number of Participants: 10
Minimum Participants: 5
Cost: $49.95
